It is important to start by teaching the math facts conceptually. This means students should not simply memorize the facts, but rather learn the strategy or pattern for why certain facts create certain products. Use my math strategy graphic organizers to help with that!
Next, students will feel pride in all the facts and strategies they have learned by solving and coloring the fact strategies they learned on their multiplication chart.
Students will LOVE the 3 different games to reinforce the strategies they already learned. Try The Dot Game, The Area Game, and Snakes & Giraffes! Each game is low prep: you just need some paper clips, colored pencils and/or dice!
